Insight Student: Jayce

As a student at a traditional high school, Jayce was the target of persistent bullying and taunting at the hands of other classmates. Unwilling to let the malicious actions of his peers push him to dropout, Jayce was prepared to tolerate the negative environment if he had to. Still, Jayce was looking for a positive learning environment, where he could excel in high school without threats of peer pressure and verbal attacks.

After looking at options for online high school, Jayce and his mother found Insight. In his first semester, Jayce made the honor roll and never looked back. He attributes part of his success to the fact that he is able to concentrate on his work without the threat of classmates tearing him down emotionally. Ultimately, Jayce says he would have stayed in traditional high school if he had to, but would not have experienced the same level of success as he has at Insight.

Jayce enjoys Insight’s individualized assignment options because they allow him to learn and express his understanding of concepts in creative ways. He also likes the robust offering of courses at Insight – especially in technology. With a keen interest in programming, Jayce plans to pursue a career in computer technology.
